Jesse & Skeeter's Place

 Today...
Back to Full Blog

(Note: Sorry about the length of this...the whole point of what I'm getting at is at the bottom of the post)

Mom and Dad have been kind of sick here lately - seems like they just can't get over the cough / sore throats they both have. Mom has also had stomach flu. They've been staying at home with Skeeter and me, trying to rest and hoping they won't make anyone else sick. Anyway, knowing how sick Mom and Daddy Wayf have been, Mom's friend (let's call her "S") called and said she was just around the corner and was stopping by to introduce her new boyfriend. Mom didn't want to be rude and outright tell her not to come, so she more or less forewarned "S" that she and dad were feeling really cruddy and that they didn't want to make "S" and the boyfriend sick. "S" didn't pick up on the hints that it wasn't a good time. She said that she and the boyfriend would only stay 10 minutes.

Well, "S" and the boyfriend (let's refer to him as "Mr. Me") arrived and walked in the door and "Mr. Me" proceeds to walk around like he owns the place - he was rather cocky and his whole conversation was about his cell phone, his old computer, his coin collection (worth $10,000) that was stolen (he got the coins from his uncle, who just happens to work for the Treasury). "S" really couldn't have much of a conversation with Mom or Dad because "Mr. Me" kept interrupting, showing us the multiple ring tones he had on his cell phone, the photos he's taken, etc. He went so far as to make "S" call him on his cell phone at least three times, so he could show us that he could record the conversation, that he could conference call, and all sorts of stuff like that. "Mr. Me" also told us that he had thoroughly cleaned "S's" kitchen and threw away a ton of stuff and then he told "S" that very soon her house was going to look as clean as Mom and Dad's, not that our house is the cleanest in the world - Mom just doesn't like a lot of clutter. I thought that was rather rude of him to say that to her.

Now, the story with "S" is that she suffers from chronic depression and low self-esteem, amongst other things, and she's rather gullible at times. "S" so desperately wants to have a husband / step-father for her twin daughters. This is why Mom is worried about the situation with the new boyfriend. Apparently "S" began talking to him online or a chat room or some such place. Anyway, shortly after they began talking, he was arrested for violating his parole and he went to jail for six months. Apparently, they kept in touch this whole time via phone calls and mail. "S" stopped by one day and showed Mom the letters she had received from "Mr. Me" - some were very nice, others were exceedingly filthy. Anyway, "S" received a call from him a few weeks ago that he was being released from jail and needed a place to stay as his mother didn't have a place for him. "S" picked him up and brought him home with her. Anyway, they seem to get along really well and her daughters (age 10) really like him, too.

Now, don't misunderstand - Mom and Dad don't have a problem with the fact that he's been in prison or even with how they met. It just appears to them that "Mr. Me" may be using "S" and they really didn't appreciate his behavior today. He went out to the car for a moment and Mom asked "S" if everything was okay and she said she couldn't talk, that she'd try to call Mom later. "S" also kept rolling her eyes behind "Mr. Me's" back - so all may not be well in paradise. That 10 minute visit lasted over 2 hours...

Well, anyway, I didn't mean to go on and on about this - really all I meant to do was simply tell Daddy Wayf how much we love him and appreciate how considerate and wonderful he is. After the experience we had today with "S" and "Mr. Me", we realize how lucky we truly are to have Daddy Wayf. We are truly blessed!

We love you, Dad!

Bow! Wow!

Hi, Kitcat and Buddy! Good to hear from you two!!

Nope, didn't care for "Mr. Me" at all - I spent all of one or two minutes sniffing his leg, then I went to get a petting from "S", then I went and laid down between Mommy's feet - that's my safety zone!

Skeeter, on the other hand, hopped up on the sofa and kept trying to hump "Mr. Me" and "S".

We sure hope "S" finds what she's looking for, too. We worry about her and her twin girls.

Hi, Miss Lou!!!

It's good to hear from you!!!

Dad's a pretty special guy! He takes such good care of us and Mommy! After the experience of "Mr. Me" ... oh, I just don't even want to go there! They stopped by again this evening - the second impression was no better than the first!!! That sounds really horrible of me, doesn't it?

Sorry!!!!!

Hi, Kitcat and Buddy!

We hope you two are doing well!!!

Mom and Dad have been pretty sick for a while now, though it looks like Daddy Wayf is feeling much better now. Although Mom is doing better, she still feels pretty yucky - the doctor wrote all sorts of prescriptions for her and she's going to see a different doctor tomorrow - hopefully it will help. Skeeter and I have been goofing off - keeping Mom and Dad entertained...Mom says we're really good at that!

Anyway, we're hoping to be back full time here soon!

Somehow I missed this post before...anyway....Anyway, you and Skeeter and your Mom are all lucky to have your Dad...it is true that there are lots of "losers' out there..sometimes the worst losers are the ones that do not know it...I think your Mom is a very smart woman and your Dad is pretty lucky to have her too...Hope they are both all better now

Hi, Colo!

It's nice to hear from you!!

We think Dad's pretty terrific!!!! We finally got to go to the park for a little while one evening and Dad played with us - we had a lot of fun! Mom did a little walking with me, but she's still kind of limited in what she does, so she watched most of the time. Mom said the sunshine sure felt good, though.
